William Glenn Tennis Obituary; William Glenn Tennis, of West Terre Haute, Indiana Has Passed Away

William Glenn Tennis. 69, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, with the dignity enabled by Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.

Bill Tennis, who is said to have been Jerome and Wilma Jean (Brown) Tennis’ favorite child, grew up on Terre Haute’s Willow Street and then on South Center Street, where he made friends for life. Bill started working with Wabash Valley Goodwill Industries during his final year of high school. He will retire as the organization’s president and chief executive officer in June 2021. He traveled widely during his brief retirement and frequently hosted events on his estate in Concannon Hill.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Crist, her husband Robert, and their children, Nolan Crist, Keira Anderson, Olivia Crist and Mia Anderson; his son, Joseph Tennis; and his daughter Sarah Tennis and her husband, Jeff Keilman.  Also surviving are his siblings, Jerry Tennis, David Tennis, his absolute favorite sister, Jane Tennis, and Ned Tennis and his wife, Lisa Petrulis.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Marci (2014), and his beloved “good yeller dog,” Mandella Suellen “Mandy,” (2022).

Although Bill did not desire a funeral, we are aware of his repeated claim that he has “a birthday coming up.” In order to honor Bill’s remarkable life, the family intends to organize a reception on his 70th birthday, which falls on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
