In a recent update, the Texas Department of Public Safety has officially confirmed the unfortunate news of a fatal crash in Milam County, resulting in the loss of two lives.

The crash occurred on FM 486, specifically north of Thorndale.

According to troopers, a 2012 Kia Sorento, driven by a 39-year-old woman from Georgetown, Texas, was heading southbound on FM 486 shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday. The driver, in a decisive move, brought the vehicle to a halt, signalling their intention to execute a left turn into the nearby church parking lot. In a dramatic turn of events, a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck, operated by a 34-year-old female resident of Thorndale, collided with the rear end of the Kia vehicle.

In a tragic incident, the occupants of the Kia, including a 14-year-old male passenger, Taj Tanner and 42-year-old Tyesha Nikole Tanner from Georgetown, lost their lives upon impact.

Both individuals were declared deceased at the scene by a Justice of the Peace.

The driver of the pickup has been hospitalised and is currently in recovery.

According to DPS, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
