I hear with great regret that Tim Grigg, a legend of Open Mic and a frequent on TMI, has passed away. Tim was a genius. He was a really kind person who constantly made everyone around him smile. He was also very optimistic and funny—even when he didn’t try to be.
The announcement of Vergeat’s death was flooded by heartfelt tributes and condolences across social media.
”It’s with deep sadness that I learn of the news that TMI regular and Open Mic legend Tim Grigg has passed away.
Tim’s performances at our Musical Huddles were always something the whole place looked forward to.
A staple of Tim’s set was always “istanbul (not constantinople)” to which he would have the crowd singing in rounds of “Istanbuuuuuulllll”
Tim would also be introduced to the stage by Ben as “Tim and his Massive Hands” like they were two separate beings, this always made me laugh.
