Tan Yock Lin Accident: NUS law professor killed in in Upper Thomson Road accident on Friday morning.
Emeritus Professor Tan Yock Lin, a distinguished law professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), has been identified as the 70-year-old man who was killed in an accident on Upper Thomson Road near Lornie Road at around 10 on Friday, July 7.

A bus, a truck, a van, and an automobile were all involved in the collision. According to video evidence of the incident, the lorry crashed over the center barrier and into a car.
Tan was named as the victim in an email issued to colleagues on July 8 by the dean of the NUS law faculty.
“Our colleague and friend, Tan Yock Lin, has passed away following a road accident yesterday morning.”
A man was discovered to be locked in the driver’s seat, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
To save the man, the roof of the automobile was cut off and removed using hydraulic rescue equipment.
According to the police and SCDF, the man was awake when he was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he later passed away.
Even though two more people had minor wounds, they chose not to be sent to the hospital.
While rescuers struggled to liberate the man’s legs imprisoned under the dashboard, a SCDF paramedic who was on the scene stabilized the man’s injuries.
To provide medical aid, a Tan Tock Seng Hospital emergency medical team was also activated.
According to the authorities, a male truck driver, age 26, was detained for reckless driving that resulted in death.
The inquiries continue.
