The Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre’s former director, Simon Weatherill, sadly passed away. Today, Saturday, January 20, 2024, was Simon Weatherill’s last day of life.

Sadly, he died during the Portsea Swim Classic, possibly from a suspected heart attack. Weatherill’s extraordinary athletic ability earned him widespread praise.
