Sean Murray Obituary – Death: PFGS Founder and Vancouver Giants Goaltending Coach, Sean Murray Passes Away

Sean Murray Obituary; Sean Murray, the former goaltending coach and founder of PFGS, passed away. Sean Murray, a hockey coach from Anmore, British Columbia, was declared deceased today, November 11, 2023, a Saturday.

Sean Murray, a former coworker and buddy. Many others have been impacted by his mentoring role, and his absence will be much lamented. We are praying and sending our condolences to all those impacted by his loss.

Since 1995, Sean has been actively involved in goaltender training. He began this adventure with the great Vladislav Tretiak as a master instructor. Sean and his business partners launched PFGS (ProFormance Goalie Schools) with the intention of bringing attention away from East Coast goaltenders. They were the first to provide novel ideas like season training and association goalie training. These programs, which are now standard in goalie schools, demonstrate Sean’s dedication to developing the industry.

Sean is a lifelong learner who is passionate about goalkeeper training and is constantly looking to improve his techniques for both on- and off-ice training. In this ever-evolving business, being on top of the latest approaches is essential, and Sean has made it his priority to make sure his goaltenders are fully conversant with the newest tactics.

Throughout his long career, Sean has played for NHL teams, progressed from junior B to skill development, and spent a lot of time in the WHL and BCHL. One noteworthy accomplishment was winning the Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants in 2007.
