Roy Tanner Car Accident: A devastating head-on collision in unincorporated Westwego on Thursday afternoon resulted in the loss of Roy Tanner, a 58-year-old Marrero resident. The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed Tanner’s passing at the scene of the accident, which occurred on the Lapalco Boulevard bridge over Bayou Segnette.
Reports indicate that Tanner was driving westbound on Lapalco Boulevard around 3:12 p.m. when, according to sheriff’s officials, his pickup truck crossed the center line, leading to a collision with an eastbound pickup truck.
Aside from Tanner’s tragic loss, a man and two juveniles sustained injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. As of Friday, updates on their conditions were not available.
The survivors, including the man and two juveniles, were occupants of the other truck involved in the collision.
