Riley Phelan Car Accident; 21 Years Old Riley Phelan Of Salina Passes Away In One Vehicle Crash After Hitting A Tree In Delaware County Crash
A single-vehicle accident that involved a collision with a tree resulted in the death of a woman from Delaware County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
As a result of the injuries she incurred in the collision, Salina resident Riley Phelan, who was 21 years old, passed away at the site on Friday, according to the patrol.
While she was traveling southbound on US-59 approximately two miles north of Jay, the trooper claimed that headlights hit the windshield, creating a glare to appear on the windshield.
A tree was struck by the vehicle driven by Phelan after it had veered off the highway to the right and then spun off, according to the police.
A collision took place at approximately 6:50 p.m.
As a passenger in Phelan’s vehicle, Sadie Jeffcoat, 19, from Pryor was transported to Grove Integris Hospital, where she received medical treatment and was later discharged with head injuries.
According to the patrol, this happens to be the second fatality that has occurred in Delaware County in the past two days.
