Richard Dewitt Death; Identified As Victim In Rosetta Street Homicide

Richard Dewitt, 46, a resident of Richmond, has been identified as the victim of the shooting that took place on Rosetta Street yesterday morning, according to detectives with the Richmond Police Department.

Shots were heard by a First Precinct officer who was on patrol at approximately 5:29 in the morning. The officer then drove towards Rosetta Street in order to investigate.

An somebody from the general public approached the police and informed him that two people had been shot. Two adult males, Dewitt and another, were found by the officer in the 2300 block of Rosetta Street. Both of them appeared to have been shot.

Both of them were immediately sent to a nearby medical facility. Because to his injury, Dewitt passed away. An injury that was not thought to be life-threatening was sustained by the other male sufferer.
There is still an ongoing investigation.
