Officials and reports state that American actor Christian Oliver and his two kids perished in the Caribbean after their plane “plummeted into the ocean” shortly after takeoff from an island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Around noon on Thursday, the small, one-engine aircraft, owned and operated by Robert Sachs, a resident of the island of Bequia, crashed into the sea approximately one nautical mile west of the island of Petit Nevis, according to the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).
“At around 12:11 p.m., the aircraft took off from the J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm with St. Lucia as its final destination. The plane had technical issues shortly after takeoff and crashed into the sea, according to a Facebook post by the police.
Sachs and his three passengers, Christian Klepser and his daughters Madita, ten, and Annik, twelve, were recognized by the police as the victims.
Klepser has “worked with the likes of Steven Soderbergh in The Good German opposite Cate Blanchett and George Clooney, Brian Singer and Tom Cruise in Valkyrie and the Wachowski’s in Speed Racer and Sense8,” according to his website. Klepser, according to media reports, goes by the stage name Christian Oliver. In 1995, the actor starred in a movie based on the well-known book series “The Baby-Sitters Club.”
Oliver posted a picture of a group of people on a beach on Instagram four days ago with the caption, “Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To the community, to love.. Here we come, 2024!”
Actress Bai Ling stated on Instagram, “I just could not believe it is the truth, the last we worked filming in Hollywood was December 20th 2023, just right before Christmas.” Bai Ling revealed she was working with Oliver on the upcoming film Forever Hold Your Peace.

Oliver’s representatives were contacted by Fox News Digital; as of right now, they have not released a formal statement regarding the incident.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force claimed, “The four bodies of the aforementioned persons were recovered from the aircraft/sea by Coast Guard personnel and were later pronounced deceased by a medical practitioner.”
What what caused the plane to crash is yet unknown. There is a current investigation.
Sachs operated a dive company in Bequia, and according to the local news website Searchlight, he last radioed the airport’s control tower to let them know that he was having problems and was about to turn around.
According to police, the remains have now been brought to St. Vincent and are being examined by a medical examiner.
