It is with heavy hearts that we announce the gentle passing of Ralph “Clem” Pummel, a beloved local resident of Sabine, Ohio. Clem, 63, died on February 16, 2024 at Autumn Years Nursing Center surrounded by his loved ones.
Clem was born in Washington Courthouse on February 2, 1961 to Ralph “Sam” Pummel and Dorothy Watson. His influence far exceeds his years.
His children, Jennifer, Justin, Wesley, and Wade, and six beloved grandchildren, Jenson, Makayla, Liberty, Kyler, Jackson, and Adilyn, make up his loving family.
Along with her siblings Richard Watson, Robert Hester, Sue Hughes and Cindy Stevens, as well as many nieces and nephews, Clem has a close-knit family. His daily phone conversations with his nephew Richie Jr. about sports, fishing and neighborhood gossip showed how close they were.
Clem was a proud member of the class of 1979 at Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio. As a pitcher for McClain’s baseball team, he set records and was well known for his athletic ability.
His vibrant personality was defined by his love of baseball, his passion for fishing and hunting, and his unwavering support for the Green Bay Packers. Clem’s tenure at RCA spanned 25 years, demonstrating his dedication and work ethic.
He later worked at Lakeside Tree Service as the right-hand man of Brian, his best friend. Clem was happy when he was joking, sharing stories and drinking cool drinks with friends. His outdoor spirit was strong.
Clem found solace in the love and attention the Autumn Years staff gave him in his final hours. He was able to go through his transition with peace of mind because of the caring support he received, knowing he was in the company of good people.
