Pierce Norton Obituary News: Boston Police Department Mourns the Death of Officer Pierce Norton

Pierce Norton Obituary: Officer Pierce Fitzgerald Norton, a member of the Boston Police Department, tragically passed away on Thursday, January 11, due to a sudden medical emergency. After completing his training at the Boston Police Academy, Officer Norton joined the Boston Police Department on December 9, 2013.

Before that, he held a position as a probationary officer and was assigned to Districts B-3, A-1, and D-4. Following that, he was offered the role of a permanent Boston police officer and was assigned to District A-1.

Officer Norton was assigned to the Citywide Bicycle Unit in 2018. Throughout his career, Officer Norton received numerous commendations for his dedicated service, including recognition for his prompt response to concerns about the quality of life.

Officer Norton’s exceptional response to the demonstrations in Boston in May of 2020 earned him a well-deserved letter of commendation. His time as a member of the Citywide Bicycle Unit and the COBRA Team showcased his dedication and effectiveness.

Additionally, the Boston Police Relief Association’s Annual Awards Ceremony in 2021 awarded the Citywide Bicycle Unit a Unit Citation for their tireless efforts.

Officer Norton was well-liked by his coworkers, superiors, and friends. This was evident not just within the department but also among the individuals he served.
