We regret to notify you of the demise of Lt. Pete Sheridan, retired, a cherished former member, with heavy hearts and deep sadness. Pete was a devoted firefighter who worked for many years, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he came into contact with. On the Date of Passing, he died quietly and left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. After being appointed in 1960, Pete started his career in the fire service. He served with unrelenting devotion and commitment throughout his illustrious career, always prioritizing the security and well-being of others. After that, he was put to work on Ladder 37, where he demonstrated bravery and selflessness in the face of peril.

Pete accepted his promotion to Lieutenant in 1977 with pride and humility as a result of his exceptional service. After that, he was given a job at Engine 8, where he kept setting an example for the other firemen and won their respect and affection. In 1987, Pete’s career came to an end at Engine 52, where he distinguished himself and served the community with honor. He made incalculable contributions to the fire department, and everyone he worked with was inspired by his unwavering commitment to duty.

In addition to his achievements as a firefighter, Pete was a loving grandfather, father, and husband. He was married to Kathleen for 62 years, and throughout that time they created a life full of love, joy, and priceless memories. In addition to his 15 grandkids, Pete is survived by his children, Patrick Carol, Brian Doreen, and Kathleen Collins. Although Pete’s son Peter passed away before him, his memory endures in the hearts of people who held a deep affection for him. Pete was well-known for his sharp mind, contagious laugh, and infinite wisdom. His sense of humor made everyone around him happy, and his words of wisdom and support gave others courage when things got hard. Everyone who had the honor of knowing Pete will miss him much. Pete’s presence brightened any space he visited.
