The individual involved has been identified as Olamide Olakanye. It has been reported that Olamide Olakanye, a resident of Upper Marlboro, tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained in a car accident that involved a shooting.

How did the shooting happen?

Police officers arrived in response to a shooting and car collision report around 11:20 p.m. in the 5300 block of Sheriff Rd. Upon arrival, they found a man inside the crashed vehicle who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Olamide Olakanye’s cause of death

The victim has been identified as Olamide Olakanye, an 18-year-old from Upper Marlboro. According to authorities, Olakanye suffered gunshot wounds in the 1200 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive. Afterward, he drove away and eventually crashed into a wooded area on Sheriff Road.

The individual was transported to a medical facility, where they were declared deceased. Olamide, also known as Stephen, a senior at Charles Herbert Flowers High School, had a promising future ahead of him, with plans to attend Towson University.
