We regret to inform you of the passing on Monday, February 19, 2024, of Dr. Clara H. Cooper of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who went to be with her ultimate rest. Her life served as an example of kindness, devotion, and unwavering support for her family, her community, and her career. We honor her life and the great influence she had on everyone who had the good fortune to know her, even as we grieve her passing.

A devoted grandmother and mother

Cathy A. Cooper, Dr. Clara H. Cooper’s adored daughter, who she held in high regard, is her surviving child. She also leaves behind her beloved great-granddaughter, Carly Cooper, and two grandsons, Andre Cooper and Brandon Cooper (Britney), who were raised as her own. Their long legacy will always be reflected in their love and treasured memories.

A Generous and Compassionate Woman

Dr. Cooper’s generosity and compassion extended to her step-grandchildren, Pamela Major Simmons, Angela Gaddist (Rondell), Coretta Simmons Blume (John), and Dr. Katina M. Richmond, in addition to her own family. She had a nurturing attitude that touched many lives and left a lasting impression on those who were lucky enough to know her.

A Shared Love-Filled Life

Albert Mannie Cooper, Dr. Clara H. Cooper’s devoted husband, passed away before her. They have a love and friendship that united them and shone brightly for their family and neighborhood. Despite their physical separation, their love is preserved by the priceless memories they shared.

A Life Celebration

In honor of Dr. Clara H. Cooper, a Celebration of Life Service will take place at Mt. Carmel AME Church, 1059 Old Black Oak Road, Moncks Corner, SC, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Cooper’s Memorial Cemetery will be the last resting place for the woman who impacted so many lives; burial will take place there. Friends and family are welcome to pay their last respects at the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., before to the service.
