MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, gave the late leader heartfelt honors, praising his early foray into public life as well as his steadfast dedication to the country, the working class, and the people of Tamil Nadu.
Sankaraiah made several sacrifices during his life for the benefit of society. He was an American College history student in Madurai, but he was detained right before his final exams, therefore he was unable to get his degree.
His dedication to the cause earned him an eight-year prison sentence that ended on the eve of independence, underscoring the price he had to pay for the country’s freedom.
Sankaraiah received accolades in addition to verbal recognition for his achievements.
The DMK government led by MK Stalin established the Thagaisal Tamizhar (Eminent Tamil) award in 2021, and he was the first recipient of it.
But there were obstacles in the way of awarding him an honorary doctorate; they included the backing of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government and an apparent delay caused by Raj Bhavan.
