The untimely passing of Michael, also known as Mick, Mike, and Mickey, took place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was 53 years old and lived in Naperville, Illinois.
The 23rd of April, 1970 saw the arrival of Mike Kerr, who was raised in Joliet by his parents, Bob and Kathy (Whitgrove) Kerr. After completing his education at St. Ray’s Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School, he graduated with the class of 1984.
His further education included a degree in law from the University of Southern California and a degree in business administration from Stanford University. Having spent a significant amount of time as a lawyer and lobbyist who specialized in banking law, he enjoyed nothing more than engaging in political debates, sipping scotch, and telling stories, all while spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his devoted wife DeAnn, he is survived by his sons Anthony, who resides in Minneapolis, and Aidan, who is in Naperville, as well as his daughter Andrea (Drea), who resides in Naperville. There was no one he did not feel proud of.
Also surviving him are his mother, Kathy Kerr, who resides in Joliet; his brother, Kevin Kerr, who is married to Lisa and lives in Costa Mesa, California; his brother-in-law, Joe Nemeth, who is married to Michelle and lives in Citrus Heights, California; and a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition, he is survived by his closest buddy, John J. Gordan II, as well as an unlimited number of other people.
Mike’s father, Bob Kerr, as well as his grandparents, Anne and Bill Whitgrove and Archie and Lea Kerr, as well as his mother and father-in-law, JoAnn and Dan Erlin, as well as his cousin Tom Whitgrove, all passed away before him.
Memorial services for Michael R. Kerr will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be place in the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, which is located at 604 N. Raynor Ave. in Joliet. A mass of Christian burial will be present throughout the service. Because Michael’s wish was to be cremated, the rites of cremation have been executed.
