Michael Craig Obituary News: A well-known sports advocate and Gens Nation scout, 46, passed away. After facing a fatal illness, Michael Craig, a husband and father of two, passed away.
Mike Craiger has a rare type of cancer, according to the Oshawa Generals. He tragically passed suddenly a few days after entering the Cornwall Hospice. He was 46.
The Oshawa Generals organization “shares the news of the passing of longtime scout, Michael ‘Craiger’ Craig, with a sorrowful heart. Regrettably, early on Sunday morning, Michael lost his fight with a rare type of colon cancer.
Who Was Michael Craig?
For more than 15 years, Michael, or “Craiger” as he was known on the ice, served as a scout for the Eastern Ontario Generals. Future Generals talents like Will Petschenig, Daniel Altshuller, Serron Noel, William Ennis, and the team’s current captain, Matthew Buckley, were all found thanks to him.
Michael had a significant role in the team’s Memorial Cup victory that year. Throughout his career, both on and off the ice, Michael has positively impacted the lives of countless students, Special Olympics athletes, Ontario Hockey League players, and Minor Hockey players.
He only has his beloved Melissa and their sons James and Jacob to grieve his demise. Our hearts and condolences are with the entire Craig family, his pupils, and the OHL players he worked with.
