An accident that occurred in Wetumpka on Friday just before noon resulted in the death of a student from Elmore County High School. The news of this tragic event engulfed the entire Elmore county.
The adolescent was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche from 2004 when it went off the road and rolled over, at least according to the state troopers that responded to the scene.
According to a press release issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash took place on Harrogate Springs Road, which is located east of Wetumpka.
A little before 11:15 in the morning, according to the reports, the accident took place. Troopers have stated that the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of their death, which occurred at the site.
After some time had passed, a spokeswoman for Elmore County Schools independently confirmed that the victim was a student at Elmore County High School by the name of Masen Goggins. In addition, the school administration reports that a student who was eighteen years old had injuries as a result of the incident.
The superintendent of schools for Elmore County, Richard Dennis, has announced that there would be counselors and pastors available at Elmore County High School for anyone who may require assistance.
