Marshall Boyce Dean Obituary; Marshall Boyce Dean Of Greenville, South Carolina, Passed Away At 80

Marshall Boyce Dean, age 80, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on October 6, 2023, with his cherished wife Theresa by his side. His protracted fight with Parkinson’s Disease was ended abruptly by a heart attack.
The lone child of the late Marshall Pope Dean and Madge Pitts Dean, Marshall was born in Macon, Georgia, on February 3, 1943. He graduated from Butler High School in 1961 and enrolled at Auburn University after Butler, Georgia.

He joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity while a student at Auburn, where he met many of his closest friends. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1965 and has supported Auburn football his entire life.

After graduation Marshall joined the Army National Guard. While waiting to go on active duty he relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida where he started his career in insurance claims and investigations with Crawford and Company. Shortly after arriving in Daytona Beach, he met the love of his life, Theresa, on a blind date. They married October 21, 1966, and turned their sights towards Atlanta, Georgia.

Marshall is survived by daughters, Tammy Dean Cayou (Nick), Patsy Dean Saye (Jeffrey), and Penny Dean Singer (Jon); grandchildren, Anna Grace Cayou, Jacob Cayou, Taylor Saye, Carley Saye Crawford (Scott), Julia Singer, and Lucas Singer; and a great granddaughter Charlotte Crawford.
