Mark Savage Car Accident: On Friday, July 7, 2023, Mark Savage, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who lived in Watkinsville, Georgia, suddenly passed away. When he passed away, he was 63 years old.

Following a horrific vehicle accident on Friday that took Mark’s life and injured his grandson, son-in-law, and small cousin, Mark was pronounced dead. Close friends and the entire neighborhood were devastated by the terrible news. There will be a void left by Mark Savage.

Hiawassee Car Accident Incident

A 63-year-old Watkinsville man died in a car collision on Friday on state route 17/75 near Hiawassee, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Before 1 o’clock in the afternoon, Mark Savage was traveling south toward White County when a Mack truck traveling north toward Hiawassee crossed into his lane, striking his GMC Sierra and then, shortly after, a Ford F-150 that was following the Sierra.

According to the GSP, Savage passed away there. Three more people from Savage’s Sierra, including two boys aged 10 and 11, were transported by air to CHOA Scottish Rite.

The driver of the F-150, Newton Wilcox, 77, of Hiawassee, was taken to the hospital with significant wounds. He is anticipated to recover, according to Towns County coroner Tamela Cooper.

According to the GSP, the Mack truck driver was at fault and it is believed that there was a mechanical issue with his vehicle. Charles Farmer, 68, of Cleveland, Georgia, was the driver.

His truck tipped over and fell down a slope. At the moment, nothing else is known about his wounds.

Before 8:30 on Friday night, the road was reopened.
