Mark R. Nieman, 53, Natasha J. Nieman, 24, and Diane L. Coughlin, 68, were all pronounced dead at the site of the head-on crash that occurred near to Milepost 65, some 19 miles west of Washtucna, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Washtucna Head-on Collision
On June 30, 2023, around 1:25 PM, officials responded to an incident that transpired in the eastbound lanes of SR 26, roughly 19 miles west of Washtucna. This collision resulted in their deaths.
The passing of Mark Nieman, Natasha Nieman, and Diane Coughlin is mourned by their loved ones. According to the reports, Mark was driving an eastbound 1999 Ford Ranger when he crossed the center line and got into the path of oncoming traffic.
Head-on accident with a 2019 Ford Edge that was moving west happened to him. The 65-year-old James Coughlin was operating the Ford at the time of the collision. He was transported to East Adams Rural Healthcare for treatment when emergency services arrived.
While everything was going on, the employees discovered that Diane Coughlin, a 68-year-old lady who was a passenger in the Ford, had died on the spot. The paramedics declared both Mark and Natasha Nieman, Mark’s passenger who was 24 years old, dead at the scene of the incident.
Officers temporarily blocked off the surrounding area while they cleared the site and carried out other preliminary tasks.
