At about 8:43 a.m. on Friday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lancaster Post received a complaint of a single-vehicle collision on Canal Road near Lake Road.

On Canal Road, Lydia Rose Dupler, 23, of Millersport, was driving a 2017 Subaru Impreza toward the west. After veering off the left side of the road and colliding with a tree, a fence, and an embankment, Dupler’s car overturned. A news statement stated that Dupler was declared dead at the scene after succumbing to her injuries.

The Walnut Township Fire Department, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office provided support to the Ohio State Highway Patrol while they were on the scene.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
