Luis Edgardo Gonzalez Death – Cause of Death: Homeless man identified as body found inside burning home in downtown Augusta.

In response to a fatal fire incident, the Richmond County Coroner’s Office went to 512 Huntington Street.

According to reports, while tackling the fire just after 2:00 am on Friday morning, Augusta firefighters discovered the 34-year-old victim, Luis Edgardo Gonzalez, inside the smoldering residence.

Gonzalez reportedly was homeless. At 3:00 am, he was declared deceased.

Two firefighters also suffered burns, one to their wrist and the other to their legs, during the fireground operations.

Investigation is ongoing.
