Lt. Todd Maddox Obituary – Death: Brevard County Sheriff’s Officer, Lt. Todd Maddox Died from Cancer

Lt. Todd Maddox Obituary News: In addition to being a tremendous teammate, Todd was also a wonderful father, a top-notch police officer, and a dear friend to many of us.

Lt. Todd will be sorely missed. Todd never once indicated that he was in agony during his valiant battle. Instead, he cheerfully reported to work each day, doing the task he so dearly loved and helping to protect our community alongside his BCSO family.

Who is Lt. Todd Maddox?

Todd began working for our company in 1990 and rose through the ranks to the position of Lieutenant, where he proudly served until his temporary retirement in 2020.

I say “brief retirement” since Todd returned to the Sheriff’s Office the following day as a School Resource Deputy, allowing him to carry on with what he loved most—putting on the badge and protecting the community.

Todd would eventually return to Patrol Services as a Deputy Sheriff in our Canaveral Precinct, and he would work there up until the day of his death.

Todd served our organization and the community with respect and pride for more than 33 years.

Todd leaves behind a really caring organization, a wonderful family, and a big number of friends who are going through a lot of emotional pain as a result of his loss.

Please keep Todd and his family in your prayers at this trying time. As usual, we are grateful for the incredible affection you all have for each and every member of our staff.

We can all agree that it was a blessing to have known him. Yesterday, our community bid farewell to a magnificent public servant and friend.
