Loren C. Lovegrove Obituary News: Retired US Navy Seabees passes away in IUH Ball Hospital

IUH Ball Hospital announced the quiet passing of Loren C. Lovegrove, 88, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the company of his loved ones. He was born in Butlerville, Indiana, on July 24, 1935.

From 1966 to 1987, Loren served his country as a heavy equipment operator in the US Navy Seabees until his retirement in 1987.

His mother, Dica L. Lovegrove (Buchanan), his son, Steven Lovegrove, his siblings, Gerald, Diana, Ronald, James, and Kerry Lovegrove, his grandson, Jared Holmes, and his great-grandchild, Luke McGrew, all predeceased him.

His survivors include his wife, Lela June Lovegrove (Padgett); his daughters, Linda Joseph and Lora Holmes (David) of Muncie; his grandchildren, Shafik Joseph (Nancy) of New Castle, Melissa Ratliff of Florida, Christy Parson (Tom Heiliger) of Bloomington, Sammy Joseph (Danielle) of Muncie, Terry “TJ” Lovegrove (Chrystal) of Selma, Brandon Holmes (Jessica) of Waco, Corie Sargent of Muncie, Jeremy Holmes (Erica) of Fairlawn, and Lacey Conley (Michael) of Muncie; his siblings, Kenneth Lovegrove (Charlotte) of Seymour, David Lovegrove of North Vernon, and Kathy Millemon (Larry) of Columbus; and his sister-in-law, Lena Lovegrove of North Vernon. In addition, twenty great-grandchildren survive him.

On Monday, January 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM, there will be a visitation. Hinsey Brown Funeral ceremony (3406 S Memorial Dr, New Castle, IN 47362) will host a funeral ceremony on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
