Linda Louise Hopkins Obituary, Native Of Washington, West Virginia Passes Away At 80

After suffering dementia for a number of years, Linda Louise Hopkins Sands, 80, of Washington, West Virginia, passed away on January 1, 2024.

The late Roscoe A. and India Marie Young Hopkins welcomed her into the world on August 28, 1943.

She had graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1961. After working with Dr. William Swearingen, DDS, for a number of years, Linda was employed as an accountant for the Fahlgren & Ferris Advertising Agency until her retirement in 2000.

Shaun J. Sands, a grandchild, and Polly Anna Sands, a daughter, both of Washington, West Virginia, survive Linda. Margaret Grim (John), her sister, lives in Elizabeth, WV. along with other cherished relatives, nieces, and nephews, as well as sister-in-law Cheryl Hopkins of Surfside Beach, SC.

Her brother Paul Hopkins, sister Carol Bacorn, sister-in-law Doris and John Westbrook, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins preceded her in death in addition to her parents.

Reverend Rick DeQuasie will preside over the funeral services on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. There won’t be a funeral by the grave. Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from midday till the time of the service are the times for visiting.
