Leo Carlin Obituary-Death News; Philadelphia Eagles Legend, Leo Carlin Passes Away
The Philadelphia Eagles, who was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame and worked for the team for 55 years, are sorry to announce the demise of Leo Carlin, a pioneer in the sports ticketing industry. At the age of 86, Mr. Carlin passed away early on Wednesday morning.
Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Mr. Carlin began his career with the Eagles in the 1960 NFL Championship Team’s ticketing department as a part-time employee.
In 1964, he became a full-time member of the front office. The team’s moves from Franklin Field to Veterans Stadium in 1971 and from Veterans Stadium to Lincoln Financial Field for the 2003 season were greatly aided by Mr. Carlin.
Mr. Carlin, who was nominated in 2007 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, assisted the Eagles in becoming the first NFL team to combine computer data processing and ticketing.
He had a profoundly good impact on almost every Season Ticket Holder for many years due to his likeability, kindness, and very optimistic attitude.
He retained the ‘personal’ in tickets instead of just treating it like a commercial transaction, and he was quite passionate about trying to please and assist 70,000 customers numerous times a year.
It’s quite unique that he was able to maintain the cohesiveness of our town, our consumers, and the Eagles.
He approached both his big extended family and his coworkers in the same manner, always maintaining a personal and relational base.
