Laysa Grewell Car Accident: 22-year-old Belgrade woman and native of Townsend killed In Interstate 90 crash
In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, Laysa Grewell, a 22-year-old Belgrade woman and native of Townsend, met her untimely demise in a collision caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 90.
Family members, grieving the loss, have identified Grewell and are currently seeking donations to support them.
The unfortunate event unfolded around 1:26 a.m. on January 4, with Gallatin County Dispatch receiving multiple calls about a wrong-way driver near mile marker 294 on I-90
According to reports, the mistaken car was traveling west in the eastbound lanes, which caused it to collide violently head-on with Grewell’s car close to mile marker 278.
Deputies from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the crash scene quickly, working with the Manhattan Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol, and Three Forks Fire.
Grewell was the only one in her car, and sadly, she was declared deceased at the spot.
After having to be freed from the wrong-way car, the driver was sent to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center to receive medical care.
While Laysa Grewell’s loved ones deal with the fallout from this tragic Interstate 90 tragedy, the community mourns her passing.
