Virginia State Police on Saturday morning formally identified the person who died in a crash on U.S. 220 in Franklin County on Friday.

Latovia O. Johnson, a 36-year-old resident of Greensboro, North Carolina, was the driver of the Jeep that was engaged in the collision with the tractor-trailer, according to a press release from the state police.

Johnson tragically died at the scene of the accident. According to the announcement, it’s still unclear if Johnson had a seatbelt on.

According to the press release, the tractor-trailer driver walked away unscathed, but the state police refused to reveal his identity.

The two-vehicle crash is still being looked into.

The tractor-trailer was parked illegally on the shoulder of Route 220, according to a news release issued by the state police on Friday. The collision occurred on Friday at 5:09 a.m. in Franklin County, exactly 0.1 mile south of Aviator Dr., state police said.
