Kwame Smith Death News; The victim of Saturday night’s fatal shooting on Varick St. has been identified by Utica Police. Kwame Smith was shot in the abdomen and passed away from the injuries.
Varick Street homicide:
One person was killed in the Varick Street shooting and according to Utica Police, the male victim died at Wynn Hospital, which is only a few blocks away, despite the quick care that he received from emergency personnel.
According to the police, they are aware that there were witnesses to the shooting and need your assistance in obtaining further details.
Homicide explained:
On Saturday, just before midnight, Utica Police and Fire were called to 703 Varick St. for a report of a man being shot.
It was reported that, the police were summoned to Varick St. just before midnight on Saturday about a shooting that had happened close to the intersection of Cooper St. and Varick St.
They discovered a man who had sustained an abdominal gunshot wound when they arrived. After being taken to Wynn Hospital a few blocks away, the victim passed away there.
“The male was transported to Wynn Hospital, where despite every lifesaving effort performed, he sadly succumbed to his injuries,” Utica Police said.
