The intervention of law enforcement resulted in the rescue of Kristen and the discovery of a horrible truth: the boy who had deceived her had been implicated in the trafficking of a number of other daughters.
In order to protect Kristen, she was relocated to Spring, Texas, to live with her grandmother. This location is located a significant distance away from the notorious Bissonett Boulevard in Houston, which is famed for its prostitution.
On the other hand, hope was replaced by dread on January 2, 2020, when Kristen unexpectedly disappeared from the house where she lived with her grandma.
