Kelvin “KJ” Rovon Taylor, Jr. of Charleston, WV, tragically lost his life on April 7, 2021 to senseless gun violence.

KJ was born September 19, 2002 to Kelvin Taylor, Sr and Tara Taylor. He was a standout basketball and football player for the Cougars and slated to graduate this Spring from Capital High School.

KJ’s infectious smile, sense of humor, loyalty and straight up attitude was loved, respected, and will be dearly missed by all his family, friends, classmates and teammates, his obituary said.

KJ was a dedicated worker who wanted to go college to study sports medicine. KJ was also interested in real estate, including the renovation and demolition of properties. He recently traveled to Arizona, where he participated in his last football season as a member of Chandler High School’s 2020 Arizona State Championship squad (wearing #84).
