In light of the tragic news that Kevin Galvin has passed away, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. According to the reports, Kevin Galvin died by what appears to be suicide after contending with depression for a considerable amount of time.
“My younger brother Kevin Galvin passed away yesterday, when he had just retired as Chief of the Kansas City Fire Department,” said Kevin Galvin’s older sister, who was the one who broke the devastating news to everyone. I am utterly heartbroken… he boasted a great deal of potential.
At least he is currently having a good time with his mother, Rita Hurley Galvin Moore, and his father, William Galvin… The anguish is beyond my ability to put into words. Currently, the Galvin 5 is a 4. Put that out of your mind.”
As a result of this tragedy, the family of Kevin and members of the community in Kansas City, Missouri have made a demand for better awareness surrounding mental health crises.
