Kenneth Taylor Obituary News: 63-Year-old Man, Kenneth Taylor died In Taylorsville Shooting Incident

Following an armed confrontation at a local business on Wednesday, 63-year-old Kenneth Taylor of Taylorsville tragically lost his life from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the West Jordan Fire Department responded to a request for a medical check-up for a male in his 60s who was at Aspen Landing, which is located at 6388 S. Redwood Road. Upon entering the establishment to check on the welfare of the paramedics, Taylor shockingly displayed a weapon and pointed it at them.

Taylor pointed the gun menacingly toward the fire department, signaling his desire to pull the trigger, according to Taylorsville Police Sgt. Jake Hill. With quick thinking, the paramedics were able to leave the facility and called the police right away. Police from Taylorsville and West Jordan responded quickly, secured the area, and spoke with the staff members who were still there.

Officers struggled to make touch with the armed man despite their best efforts. Law enforcement tried to get in touch, thinking that everyone had left the building except for the armed Taylor, but they kept running into problems. The SWAT squad was eventually called in to try to break the stalemate peacefully.
