Kenneth Kidd Obituary Point Reyes: 66-year-old man identified as Palisades Tahoe Avalanche victim.

Authorities have now identified the victim in a catastrophic avalanche at Palisades Tahoe as 66-year-old Kenneth Kidd, of Point Reyes and the Truckee Tahoe area.

The man’s identify was verified by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday night.

The avalanche occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the Palisades side of the resort, above the GS bowl area of KT-22. In the avalanche, Kidd lost his life and three others were injured.

Michael Gross, vice president of Mountain Operations at Palisades Tahoe, stated that two of the individuals affected were caught in the slide but were eventually freed. Kidd was among the two people who were buried in the snow.

The sheriff’s office reports that no further missing persons have been reported, and they are sending their condolences to the deceased’s family.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Kidd during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said.

The entire Palisades Tahoe team, including all of the first responders, extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of those involved in the incident.
