23-year-old Keila Munguia of Windsor, CA, is now identified as the deceased victim in the crash on US-101.

At 7:25 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a car on its side on Highway 101 southbound just north of Limerick Lane, the agency said late Friday.

According to CHP, a white Toyota Camry was discovered on the side of the road by the police. A passenger and the driver had been thrown from the car.

The driver was heading south on the highway when she lost control and drifted left toward the center median, according to the CHP’s preliminary investigation.

In an apparent attempt to change the path of the automobile, the driver attempted to make a right turn, but the car instead continued across both lanes of traffic, skidded off the road, and rolled into a vineyard.

According to CHP, it’s unclear how the driver lost control.

Both passengers were ejected out of the automobile without wearing seatbelts, according to the police.

According to CHP, the driver of the Toyota was declared deceased at the scene, and the passenger was transferred with serious injuries to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
