Description of KANNAN MIJINA

Kannan Mijina is a fascinating Hausa novel written by Naseeba I Uba. The novel takes readers on a journey through the lives of the characters and their various experiences. The story is full of drama, emotion, and suspense, leaving readers wanting more.

The novel begins with a conversation between Haji Muhammad and his son Faruq. The father and son are discussing their plans for the day, and Faruq mentions that he is going to Alhj Ibrahim’s house. Haji Muhammad approves and bids him farewell, and then his wife, Hajiya Kareema, also leaves to go to work.

Later on, Faruq meets with his mother, who instructs him to pick up some materials from Assadiq’s house and take them to Muwadda. Faruq agrees and asks his mother for some money, and she agrees to give him some. However, he is surprised when she tells him that he is going to marry a girl from Maceba.

As the story progresses, readers are introduced to new characters, including Amina Sundade and her family. Amina is staying with her aunt and uncle because her mother is sick. She quickly becomes friends with their daughter, Suhyla, and they spend time together playing and helping with the cooking.

Throughout the novel, there are moments of tension and conflict. For example, when Suhyla’s father, Malam Kabiru, becomes angry with her for wasting food. There are also moments of love and tenderness, like when Faruq tells his mother that he wants to marry the girl from Maceba.

One of the most memorable moments in the novel is when Haji Muhammad tells Faruq to “Get rid of him assadiq, may God hide the Faruk from me, but it will make things difficult for me.” This statement sets the tone for the rest of the novel, as readers see the characters face difficult situations and try to overcome them.
