Justin Murphy Obituary News: Sun Valley man killed in 7-Eleven shooting on Gentry Way and South Virginia Street.
Justin Murphy, a 39-year-old Sun Valley resident, is the victim of Saturday’s deadly shooting, according to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Reno Police Department released a news release stating that the incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 1:50 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on Gentry Way and South Virginia Street. Murphy had been shot when the police arrived on the scene.
He received emergency medical attention from REMSA and was taken to the hospital, where he eventually passed away from his wounds.
The investigation has been taken over by detectives from the RPD’s Robbery/Homicide Division.
According to Reno Police, the shooting seems to be a one-off event involving just two people, therefore there does not seem to be a specific threat to the public.
