Saturday night in Rochester, tragedy struck when a shooting incident along Avenue D claimed the life of 28-year-old Julien Walthour. Officers from the Rochester Police Department (RPD) raced to the scene at Avenue D and Bauman Street around 8:15 p.m. in response to reports of a person found “slumped over” in a car.
Officers discovered a man in his late 20s inside a stopped car on the road upon their arrival. Julien Walthour was the victim; he had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the torso and was not breathing. The deceased, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the police, died to his injuries despite immediate first aid efforts.
