Bret Alemy, a beloved figure in the Orlando, Florida community, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Bret Alemy was born into a family in Wayne, New Jersey, to Richard Alemy and Rosanne (Lane) Huttman. His career of service began when he decided to enlist in the military following his high school graduation.

His upbringing was spent in Stockholm. He first laid eyes on Jo Ann, the love of his life, while he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque.

That was when fate grinned at him.

In January 1998, after a great military career, Bret returned to his hometown and submitted an application to become an officer with the Hardyston Police Department.

His enthusiasm and dedication to the community quickly became visible, which eventually helped him move up the ranks. He transformed the landscape of the local law enforcement community when he eventually settled in Wantage in 2003.

Bret’s leadership qualities were evident throughout his career, which culminated in his nomination to the position of Chief of the Hardyston Police Department.

His direction made the department thrive, which aided in the establishment of a feeling of security and ties to the local community. He had a strong sense of justice, resilience, and empathy, all of which were essential elements of his leadership style. These traits were well balanced.
