Joseph Ramirez Death News: Joseph Ramirez killed in fatal Commerce City shooting

The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office released a statement on Thursday stating that a 19-year-old man is charged with first-degree murder in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day.

The terrible event happened early on Monday in Commerce City, close to Dahlia Street and East 78th Avenue. According to the DA’s office, one individual died as a result of the gunshot inside a car.

The suspect, 19-year-old Angel Lozano, turned himself in to the police on Monday night and was taken to the Adams County jail.

The Commerce City Police had already designated him as a subject of interest. The district attorney’s office declared on Thursday that Lozano had been officially charged with one count of first-degree murder.

On Thursday night, a moving vigil was held in honor of the shooting victim, who was recognized by his family as Joseph Ramirez.

Survived by his wife and two children, ages two and five, as well as a sizable extended family, Ramirez was known for constantly looking out for the welfare of people around him.

Ramirez’s loved ones expressed their sorrow while highlighting his unwavering dedication to helping others.
