Joseph Morris Obituary, joseph Richard Morris,of Eloy, Passed Away At 85.

On December 18, 2023, Joseph Richard Morris, 85, of Eloy, passed away.

Roy L. and Helen I. Morris welcomed Pastor Morris into the world on May 6, 1938, in Mist, Oregon. He went to his grandfather Morris’s farm outside Green City, Missouri, in 1953 after moving to Detroit, Oregon, with his family in 1939. In Marceline, Missouri, his family resided close to the Walt Disney Mansion in 1954. Following his 1957 high school graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and served there until 1961, when he was honorably discharged. As an Air Force member, he had the chance to visit Iwo Jima in Japan in addition to other parts of the United States.

On April 14, 1961, he wed Delores M. Stoorford, the love of his life, and the two of them had two kids. After that, he began serving as the civilian head of the civil engineering department’s entomology division at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. He was baptized in the name of Jesus at the United Pentecostal Church in Bossier City, Louisiana, on July 16, 1969. On July 17, 1969, the Holy Ghost was bestowed upon him. He attended the Bible Institute in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1971. After graduating from Bible school, he began working with the Rev. Jerry Eastridge on the Navajo Nation in Tohatchi, New Mexico. He moved away in 1972 to preach, and in September of the same year, he was appointed pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Eloy. In the end, he was older.

His wife and his sisters Ernestine, Barbara, and Carol passed away before him. Bradley Todd and Ronnie Lee Morris, his two sons, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, survive him.

Thursday, December 28, at 10 a.m., there will be a graveside service at Eloy Memorial Park.
