A Career of Accomplishment
Following his graduation from Hillhouse High School, Joseph attended Quinnipiac College to further his education and obtained a bachelor’s degree. He started a prosperous career as a computer systems manager at S.N.E.T. and worked there for thirty years. Even though Joseph had many accomplishments in his career, his commitment to coaching and athletics was what really made his reputation.
A Strong Interest in Mentoring
Joseph’s passion for sports was apparent from a young age, and he got great satisfaction from coaching others and imparting his knowledge and skills. He started his coaching career in the 1960s, working with young football and basketball teams in North Haven. His devotion to developing young talent is demonstrated by the North Haven Youth Basketball League, which was founded thanks in large part to his leadership and hard work.
A Pioneer on the Bench
Joseph coached basketball at North Haven Junior High and then North Haven High School from 1990 to 1994. As the team’s head coach for freshmen, he left a lasting impression. Numerous student-athletes were shaped by his leadership and mentoring, which helped them develop the virtues of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.
A Baseball Champion
Joseph spent nine years teaching North Haven Babe Ruth baseball, demonstrating his coaching abilities outside of the basketball court. Joseph’s reputation was further enhanced in 2018 when he was admitted into the American Legion Hall of Fame, a just reward for his unwavering commitment and influence on the baseball community throughout his life.
