Tragically, on Monday, a motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a car operated by a student from Kaneland High School in close proximity to the school.

In a recent news release issued by the Kane County sheriff’s office on Monday evening, it was reported that a student behind the wheel of a grey Subaru reportedly exited the premises of a local school and collided with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle along Keslinger Road.

The Subaru driver has been transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

The Kane County sheriff’s office have now identified the motorcyclist as 60-year-old John B. Smith of Maple Park.

According to a statement released by the district, numerous students were reported to have witnessed the crash.

According to a statement from the school district, Keslinger was closed from Meredith to Dauberman roads as authorities investigated the crash.
