John Aylward Obituary News – Car Accident: Victim identified in fatal head-on collision in Dartmouth.

According to a press release from Dartmouth police, a collision on Chase Road on Sunday afternoon left one person dead and two people critically hurt.

According to Dartmouth police, they were called to the scene of a head-on accident between a 2006 Cadillac Seville and a 2015 GMC Acadia at around 3:50 p.m.

The driver of the Cadillac, a man named John Aylward, 75, who was known to Dartmouth police, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Both the 75-year-old female passenger and the GMC’s 82-year-old male driver were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where they were receiving treatment for significant but non-life-threatening wounds as of the time the Dartmouth police press release was published on Sunday night.

Although the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit of Bristol County and the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit are both still looking into what caused the collision, authorities say it appears Aylward’s car drifted into the opposing lane of traffic.

Investigation is ongoing.
