We consider his amazing life and legacy, which will always be enshrined in the pages of our recollections, as the news of his demise reverberates through our emotions. Not only was Joey Garamillo a renowned former Commander of Post 578 and the 8th District, but he was also a brother to all of us. He left an enduring impression on our lives this morning when he set off on his last adventure as a Marine. His bravery, strength, and unshakable commitment to serve our nation will never be forgotten.

Joey’s life served as an example of the virtues of honor, morality, and selflessness. He is a true example of what it means to be a patriot because of his unshakable dedication to the Marine Corps’ tenets.
