Joe Putignano Obituary-Death News; Cirque du Soleil Performer And Author From Buffalo, New York, Passed Away

Author of Acrobaddict and Cirque du Soleil performer Joseph Putignano, better known by his stage name Joe, passed yesterday in Buffalo, New York. His 46-year-old death devastated his cherished family, friends, and coworkers.

His passing was reported via a Facebook post that begins, “To My Soulmate…I’m in shock that you’ve left. Joe, my wonderful, gorgeous soul mate, is no longer physically present. I learned that the devil of addiction is a daily war you’d have to wage as the husband of an addict in recovery.

Joe Putignano attended Empire State University, and then, according to his LinkedIn, he continued his education at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, where he graduated in 2019.

He was a well-known performer and contortionist who caused a stir while he was a member of the Cirque du Soleil. His big break came as the star of the magnificent Cirque show “Totem,” which just had a tremendous run on tour.

Putignano’s extensive career also includes major appearances in Twyla Tharp’s “The Times They Are A’changin’,” many stage productions with the Metropolitan Opera, and his accomplishments with Cirque du Soleil.

Feel free to drop condolence messages and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased, as it will go a very long way at this difficult time of their
