Jerry Hull Accident: The passing of Jerry L. Hull, a respected member of the Utica community, has left a profound impact on the hearts of many. Born on February 27, 1948, Jerry’s journey in this world ended tragically on December 13, 2023, as a result of a semi-truck accident while he was passionately fulfilling his duties, hauling corn. His departure has deeply saddened those who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and cherished memories.

A funeral service in honor of Jerry will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., Utica. Pastor Ben McKinstry will officiate the service, paying homage to a life lived with integrity and commitment. Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at Bell Cemetery, where Jerry will be laid to rest.

In the wake of this loss, the community has rallied to show their support and share in the grief of Jerry’s family. A visitation period has been arranged for friends and well-wishers to pay their respects. The Utica Church of Christ will welcome guests on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Jerry was a man deeply intertwined with the agricultural fabric of his community. His dedication to his work was evident through his ownership of Hull’s Ag Service and his extensive employment history, including roles at Miller Company in Utica and Warehouser in Mt. Vernon. His thirty-year tenure as a road supervisor for Washington Township showcased his commitment to public service.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jerry was a lifelong farmer who found joy in the simplicity of life, especially through his love for tractor pulls. His passion for farming extended to his family, leaving a lasting impression on his sons, Chad and Linden, and step-daughter, Becky Carpenter, as well as his grandchildren, Samantha and Kiersten Hull, and step-grandchildren, Sierra and Kyle Fletcher.
