Reynolds’s loved ones are grieving his passing, and some have turned to social media to pay their respects. TRTER 100 was a dream of his, and he worked incredibly hard to prepare for this year’s race, according to Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs. His first TRTER 100 would have been that one.
About the Accident at Fort Jones
A 63-year-old man from Quartz Valley lost his life on Monday after being hurt in a rollover accident in Fort Jones.
According to the Yreka California Highway Patrol, the man was driving his 1999 Dodge Durango northbound on Quartz Valley Road, south of Big Meadows Road, when he drove up the dirt incline, causing the car to flip on its right side. The event happened when the man drove up the hillside after leaving the east side of the road.
When another driver saw the occurrence, he helped the man get out of the car through the driver’s side door, which was open and facing up.
The driver reports that the man passed out and fell asleep while they were talking on the roadside shoulder. The driver started doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation right away and continued until help arrived.
The person was given CPR until it was discovered that he had already died at the site. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Office will work with the California Highway Patrol Office in Yreka to determine the cause of death.
The California Highway Patrol Office in Yreka is currently looking into the cause of the collision.
